      During this first month of class, I decided to fully immerse myself in this new advanced curriculum before I begin my volunteer work at Ochsner in October. This month has been a huge shift from my previous years in undergrad, especially the workload, but studying something I am so passionate about has been such an exciting journey to embark on. September began with our inflammation module, where I learned the ins and outs of NSAIDs and acetaminophen, along with other steroid drugs. I particularly found our independent studies over the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and gout very interesting, as they are diseases I have come across in my day-to-day life. Professors like Dr. Clarkson, Dr. Lindsey, and Dr. Katakam have motivated me to work even harder through their own passion over the subject matter.
